Don Tate is the illustrator of several children's books. His work has also appeared in children's magazines, on greeting cards, and in newspapers, and he currently works as a visual journalist/ illustrator for the Austin American Statesman. He is also one of the primary contributors to The Brown Bookshelf, a blog and online community dedicated to promoting children's literature by African American authors and illustrators.
