About the Author

Phyllis J. Perry was born in Nevada City, California. She has published over 40 books for children and educators, and she was inspired to write this book by a neighborhood child she often sees playing on a big rock. Phyllis loves to travel and has visited all 50 states in the United States. She also enjoys hiking in Boulder, Colorado, where she lives with her husband.

About the Illustrator

Chih-Wei Chang has a degree in illustration from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. A full-time artist and designer, he lives in Taiwan. This is his first picture book.
