About the Author

Sue Muller Hacking was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Although she studied psychology in college, Sue now devotes her time to writing and sometimes photo-illustrating her books. The idea for this book came from the many hours she spends attending her daughter’s softball games. Sue lives in Redmond, Washington, with her husband, their two children, and their two cats.

About the Illustrator

Don Tate makes his debut as an author with the publication of It Jes’ Happened. He has also illustrated more than forty trade and educational books for children, including the highly-praised Summer Sun Risin’ and Black All Around!, published by Lee & Low Books; She Loved Baseball; and Ron’s Big Mission.
