Pat Mora is a Mexican American born in El Paso, Texas. She is the author of numerous award-winning books for adults and children. She is also a university professor, popular speaker, and children's advocate who helped establish April 30th as Día de los niños/Día de los libros, a yearly celebration of childhood, books, languages, and cultures. Paula S. Barragán is a native of Quito, Ecuador. She received her degree in graphic design and illustration from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. In addition to being a painter, Barragán is a printmaker and carpet designer. Her fine art pieces have been shown at galleries in the United States and South America.
