First Come the Zebra

Lynne Barasch gives a lesson about the universal problem of fear and prejudice in this story of two young Kenyan boys from different tribes….Barasch gives us a lovely metaphor of mutual cooperation with the animals in the beginning and translates it to humans through the boys. This sweet little book would be beneficial for older children who are learning about environmental and political issues and a good geography lesson, while being a lesson in humanity for all.
