Puffling Patrol
Review
By proseandkahn
“Really, how can one resist that cover? Full-page, double-page and spot art are watercolors featuring watery blues and splashes of reds. Read the illustrations first because they definitely distract from the text, but don’t skip the text! . . . I was reminded of an earlier book that my own sons read repeatedly back in the 90s and trotted over to the book shelves to find it. Yes! It was there! Night of the Pufflings by Bruce McMillan published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in 1995 and, sadly, it seems it is out of print. The two books tell the same story, convey the same sense of responsibility and joy on the part of the children and belong together on any school or public library shelf.”
