Bernard Wolf has had his camera aimed at the world for many years. The result? In 2003, Wolf’s twentieth book for children, Coming to America: A Muslim Family's Story was released. Coming to America is a photo-essay about a Muslim family from Egypt, their experiences living in America, and the sacrifices they have to make to fulfill their dream of a better life. It is the story of an immigrant family who have made the transition to American life, but also have also kept their Muslim beliefs and traditions. Coming to America is a timeless, universal immigrant story that generations both past and present will be able to relate to their own family histories.  “Wolf’s talent and experience as a photojournalist are evident in handsome, full-color photographs and readable text,” said School Library Journal at the release of Wolf’s HIV Positive. This book was also named “Editor’s Choice” by Booklist. Other works by Bernard Wolf include Cuba: After the Revolution and Homeless. Cuba: After the Revolution was named as an Honor Book by the Consortium of Latin American Studies. In 1981, during the International Year of Disabled Persons, Wolf was honored by the American Library Association (ALA) for his books featuring children with disabilities.Bernard Wolf’s first book was published in 1969. He has also had photographs appear in Time-Life, National Geographic, Fortune, New York, and Travel/Holiday. He attended the High School of Music and Art where he was an Art major, and went on to the Mannes College of Music on a “voice” scholarship. He lives in New York City.
