Sixteen Years in Sixteen Seconds
Review
By Cuyahoga Library
(Cuyahoga County Public Library) Wednesday was the only day 12-year-old Sammy could swim in the public pool because he was Korean-American. Dreaming of the Olympics, Sammy trained as a diver for 16 years. An inspirational life story of a man whose determination earned him the honor in 1948 of being the first Asian-American to win a Gold Medal.
