Drummer Boy of John John
Review
By Cherub Book Reviews
Drummer Boy of John John is the happy history of Winston “Spree” Simon…simply and enjoyably told by Mark Greenwood, the firecracker art provided by his wife Frané Lessac. There’s a lot featured in this title to interest youngsters: music, a festival, junkyards to glean from, and bright eye-popping paintings of the island of Trinidad. For parents, there is a glossary/pronunciation guide to help with the patois dialogue, and an Author’s Note packed with factual and fascinating tidbits. In all, a splendid, informative story-time book for all ages.”
