Cycle of Rice, Cycle of Life
Review
By A Patchwork of Books
My favorite non-fiction books for kids include 2 things: informative, yet entertaining text and beautiful photographs/illustrations. Cycle of Rice, Cycle of Life: A Story of Sustainable Farming has incorporated both so fabulously, that I am definitely recommending this to all librarians and homeschooling parents. Informative text, an entertaining subject, and brilliant photographs come together to form a book that needs to be on your shelves. . . . The photographs are amazing and they lend such a brilliance to the text. I learned more about rice and Bali than I ever thought I would know, at a level that will be easy for upper elementary and middle grade students to understand. . . . A definite recommendation for libraries, both school and public, and a fantastic resource for homeschooling parents. Pair with a unit about cultures, farming, or food.— A Patchwork of Books
