The announcement of the Newbery and Caldecott Awards is coming up, so I wanted to be sure to read this book that is getting some buzz! . . . what really makes it work is the quiet emotions and description of life going on. . . . It’s a moving story that benefits from a second reading – Andrea Cheng puts in a lot of details that work well the first time through, but seem near-genius on a second reading when you can see how early some threads were laid. —Kids’ Brain
