Singing with Momma Lou
Review
By Teaching Tolerance
In Singing with Momma Lou, 9-year-old Tamika and her family make weekly trips to the nursing home to visit her grandmother who has Alzheimer’s disease and doesn’t always recognize familiar people. After Tamika’s father shows her scrapbooks full of photos and clippings about Momma Lou’s activities in the Civil Rights Movement, Tamika uses some of these to jog her grandmother’s memory, with happy results.
