The East-West House

Review
By Palo Alto Weekly

Christy Hale makes a stunning authorial debut by illuminating the years artist Isamu Noguchi spent as a young boy in Japan. In lyrical prose and gorgeous mixed-media collages, Hale shows how designing and assisting the construction of his American mother’s house helps Isamu escape the loneliness and ostracism of a biracial child.
