Children’s Book Press
Originally founded in 1975, Children’s Book Press was the first independent press in the United States to focus on publishing children’s literature by and about people of color. In 2012, Children’s Book Press became an imprint of Lee & Low Books. The imprint continues to publish picture books featuring a wide range of diverse cultures, with an emphasis on bilingual titles and simultaneous English and Spanish editions. High-quality bilingual and translated books help build a solid foundation to achieve literacy in any language while affirming and validating a child’s identity, culture, and home language. Children’s Book Press’s original mission to promote bilingualism, literacy, and education continues to live on at Lee & Low Books.
