Karen Hjemboe

Karen Hjemboe was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She has written many stories for children’s magazines, and has taught first grade for six years on the Santo Domingo Pueblo Indian reservation in New Mexico. Karen loves animals. She has seven cats, a dog, and a horse named Tally Man. Karen and her husband live in Corrales, New Mexico.

Shelly Hehenberger

Shelly Hehenberger as born in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she earned her MFA from the University of Cincinnati. Shelly loves to travel and has a strong interest in Native American cultures, including the Navajo Nation, which she has visited. She lives in Columbia, South Carolina, with her husband and their two cats, Ollie and Orange.
