Lee & Low Books
Founded in 1991 by Philip Lee and Tom Low, our original eponymous imprint publishes fiction and nonfiction children’s books ranging from board books and picture books to chapter books. This imprint does not publish animal, folktale, or anthropomorphic stories. On our debut list was Baseball Saved Us, which was the first-ever picture book about Japanese concentration camps. It helped define us as a risk-taker when it comes to subject matter and set the standard for many of the books we have published since then. Over the years, Lee & Low Books has earned a reputation for high-quality, groundbreaking books for young readers, with many of our titles winning major awards and honors.
