Auntie Yang’s Great Soybean Picnic
Review
By Northwest Asian Weekly
’Auntie Yang’s’ is a story about the importance of family, making the most with the family you have, and creating your own new family with those around you. It shows how being part of a larger community can help a person deal with difficulties, such as being homesick and missing loved ones. In addition to the fun story, young readers will enjoy the brightly colored illustrations depicting Jinyi and Pei’s small family, their get-togethers at Auntie Yang’s, and the large gatherings held in the park.
