Cinco Puntos Press (CPP) was an independent press founded by husband-and-wife team Bobby and Lee Byrd in 1985. Cinco Puntos Press had the unique distinction of being based in El Paso, Texas, not three miles north of the U.S. Mexican Border. Like Lee & Low’s other imprints, Cinco Puntos Press was fiercely independent and concentrated on publishing stories from Texas, Border, Latinx, and Native life.

The list of notable titles published by CPP is extensive:

· All Around Us

· Por todo nuestro alrededor (Spanish edition: All Around Us)

· The Dog Who Loved Tortillas

· Drug Lord: A True Story: The Life and Death of a Mexican Kingpin

· Gabi, A Girl in Pieces

· La Llorona/The Weeping Woman

· ¡Sí, Se Puede! / Yes, We Can!

· Thirty Talks Weird Love

· Where Wonder Grows

“For a long time now, we’ve admired how Lee & Low have developed a business model that competes in this changing environment, while maintaining their commitments to diversity and good books. We applaud their work and are delighted that the Cinco Puntos legacy will continue as a Lee & Low imprint.” —Bobby Byrd, Founder, Cinco Puntos Press

In 2021, Cinco Puntos Press became an imprint of Lee & Low Books. The imprint will continue to publish picture books, middle grade, young adult, and books for adults that feature a wide range of diverse cultures. Through the CPP imprint of Lee & Low Books, Cinco Puntos' mission, vision, and legacy has found a new home.
