Coming to America

Review
By The Texarkana Gazette

The book Coming to America: A Muslim Family’s Story gives the non-Muslim a point of contact in understanding the predominantly Middle East religion. In today’s landscape of Middle East stereotypes the book helps a child grasp the struggles of a family whose only goal is to become educated, make a good living and practice the religion of their choice. . . helping children see Muslims as people – people just like them. . . . By the end of the book, readers will have a better understanding of Muslim culture at the family level. Although it’s a fast read, the photos keep drawing you back for a second and third look.
