An absolutely lovely picture-book biography which gives the readers a spiritual impression of this multi-talented ancient Chinese poet. Demi uses gold frames around her delicate stylistic artwork. In sparse text she tells how this genius led an exemplary life and was highly renowned during his life in the 11th century, and is still revered today. Su Dongpo’s poems are woven into the events of his life and dignified way he handled them. The text and art work together perfectly.
