¡Olé! Flamenco
Review
By Picture Book Junkie
This very informative book offers readers a plethora of information about Flamenco dance from the dress to the music to the lingo. This book would be a tremendous asset for someone interested in this style of dance, as well as parents who want their children to grow up informed about an important part of the Spanish culture. This book would also be useful for a dance teacher to have his/her students familiarize themselves with. Instead of using drawings of some sort, Ancona used color photographs to pair with his text. These large photographs (some of them full page) capture the joy on the dancers’ faces, as well as the movement in their bodies. Readers have a true example before their eyes of the stances and movements of Flamenco.
