This is a story worth sharing with elementary students, and one unknown to this adult. . . . This relatively unknown woman was ahead of her time, always felt like an outsider, but followed her dream. She should be an inspirational and intriguing new sports figure to introduce to impressionable young readers. The color illustrations are fine, and a welcome photo of her playing pro ball centers the final page.
