Don Tate writes lyrically about the hardships of Bill Traylor’s life and R. Gregory Christie mimics Traylor’s folk art style using a vibrant palette to convey the strength of character and intellect. I hope that intrigued students will do as I did and want to read more about this fascinating artist.
